31 Days To A Clutter Free Life Day 9: Dining Area

Welcome to Day 9 of the 31 Days To A Clutter Free Life Challenge! If you want to find out what the challenge is all about or would like to read the previous posts, simply go here.

Today we are focusing on the dining area. My dining and kitchen area are combined which I personally enjoy after years of having to clean up a separate dining space at our old house. Now this is where I get work done, cook, and sometimes homeschool, so it can get messier than other areas of the home. However, I try to keep the area relatively clutter free.

The easiest way to do this is by having limited counter space. Besides the kitchen countertops and the dining table, I don’t have any other usable counter space in our kitchen/dining area. I find that the less places I have to put stuff on, the less I can collect and allow to pile up.

For the sake of this challenge I’m going to show you what our dining table looks like this morning. I’ll be de-cluttering (really cleaning!) it for today’s challenge. Again, my space won’t look like the norm because I have limited space so I try to  keep my space as clutter free as possible.

I’ll update this post with an “after” photo and show you how I keep my space clutter free. How are you making out so far in the challenge? Is your dining area an easy space like mine or do you struggle in this area? I would love to hear from you!

**Update!**
Here’s an after of my dining space! My rule is this: the table must be cleared each night. It doesn’t always happen, but it’s definitely a start.
