Welcome to Day 3 of the 7-Day Purge Challenge! Today’s challenge focuses on the bathroom, which I’m actually looking forward to tackling. I’m going to be working on our master bathroom which is tiny compared to the average bathroom. I try to keep the space clutter free, but I do have some bins that hold our toiletries and could use some attention. Although I continuously purge these bins, it doesn’t take long before I need to declutter again.
Here’s the areas to focus on for today’s challenge:
This includes the bathroom sink, top of the toilet and anything else that’s visible. The only thing I leave out on the bathroom sink is hand soap. I also have a small shelf above the toilet that holds a few items we frequently use.
Toiletries can quickly pile up if they’re not regularly purged. Go through all of your toiletries, and get rid of anything that’s expired. If you have multiples of a product, and it’s not frequently used, get rid of it. If it’s brand new and you never use it, give it away.
Under the sink
If you have a bathroom vanity, empty out the contents underneath and get rid of anything that doesn’t belong. This is also a great time to toss out any products you don’t use, or that are nearly empty.
Some bathrooms have a small linen closet for storage. This is where I keep our toiletries in small bins along with some random items (batteries, light bulbs) that I don’t have a space for. Again, take out anything you don’t use, you don’t need, or doesn’t belong.
If you feel that today’s challenge is too overwhelming for one day, spread it out over several days. I’ll continue to say this because I don’t want you to get discouraged and quit halfway. Plus slow and steady will yield the same results.
As always, I hope you’ll join me later on to check out my progress, and share your own!
Today was way busier than I bargained for, so this challenge was tackled at the very end of the day. I actually went through my bins like a mad woman, tossing everything that was questionable. I was surprised with some of the things I found (i.e. naked doll).
How did you do today? I’d love to hear all about it!
