Get Your Home Ready For The Holidays-Day 6 {15 Day Challenge}

Get Your Home Ready For The Holidays-Day 6 {15 Day Challenge}-Get your home ready for the holiday season with this 15 day challenge!
Welcome to Day 6 of the Get Your Home Ready For The Holidays Challenge! Like I mentioned yesterday, my plan was to continue working on the kitchen area. It started out great, but I found myself feeling a bit off and sluggish. I think it had more to do with my lack of sleep since my toddler has been going to bed later than normal. Thank goodness it didn’t last all day and I was able to tackle the remainder of my to-do list.

This is what I was able to work on:

  • Silverware drawer
  • Miscellaneous kitchen drawer
  • Light fixtures
  • Floors (hand scrub)
  • Trash can
  • Light switch/outlets

You might have noticed that the refrigerator is missing from my list. My daughter will be working on it, so I only took care of the outside/top area of the fridge. I keep a canvas bin to hold miscellaneous paperwork that is not super important and can be filed later. Once it fills up, I sort it and file it away while watching one of my favorite shows. I find that this method works better than keeping something on my kitchen counter. When I used to do that, it attracted more clutter to the space which defeated the purpose.

I also added some fall decor and scents to the kitchen. I bought these pine cones/decorative items to add to the kitchen table. Not only does it smell great, I love that the neutral colors match my kitchen space perfectly.

Once my daughter handles the refrigerator, I’ll be able to officially cross this space off of my list. Next, I’ll be working on the master bedroom. Again, it will consist of deep cleaning the space and purging what doesn’t belong. We’re in the middle of updating our bedroom furniture and decor, so I’m even more motivated to get this done.

What space did you work on today? I’d love to hear how about your progress!
