Get Your Home Ready For The Holidays-Day 8 {15 Day Challenge}

Get Your Home Ready For The Holidays-Day 8 {15 Day Challenge}-Get your home ready for the holiday season with this 15 day challenge!
Welcome to Day 8 of the Get Your Home Ready For The Holidays Challenge! I almost didn’t share my post today. *gasp* Not because I didn’t want to, but because I felt like I didn’t make enough progress over the weekend. Then I realized that one of the reasons I blog is to encourage busy moms like myself to put their family first. So, why not keep it real and share how my weekend really went?

Now I don’t want to pretend like nothing was accomplished because there was some progress made. I spent a chunk of my Saturday getting some of my freelance work complete, and the remainder of the evening was spent at my son’s football game. Sunday was a typical day for us, but we also visited my in-laws. This included a game of Mad Gab that I scored at a consignment sale and lots of laughs. I’m seriously obsessed with this game now.

So what did we accomplish? A few things that were on our to-do list. One of them was getting the TV wall mount up. I’m not a big fan of TVs on the wall, but it needed to be done. My toddler was continuously messing with the power button since she could reach it, and my new TV table was too small to hold the satellite box. Both problems have now been solved.

I also purchased a cute framed chalkboard that I need to write and draw on. I’m not artistic, but found some great tutorials that give me hope that it will turn out OK. Unfortunately, I ran out of printer paper which was one of the supplies that I needed to get started. But at least, it’s up on the wall which is better than nothing.

And as a reminder of keeping things balanced, my Cents of Style bracelets arrived in the mail. I love that they remind me to Hustle and work hard, but also Be Here Now in this season of life because time doesn’t pause for busy.

So what should you focus on for Day 8? I say play it by ear. Get some things off your to-do list, but take time to focus on your most important project-family.

How was your weekend? Did you get a lot done? I clearly didn’t, but I had a blast with my family and don’t regret it one bit. 🙂
