My 5 Favorite Baby Nursery Items

A baby nursery is like a mommy’s blank art canvas. You can decorate it and pretty much do as you please without anyone having an opinion. 😉 Well at least until your baby becomes an opinionated toddler, then it’s back to Dora the Explorer sheets. Until that day comes I’m going to enjoy the freedom to do as my heart desires. Here’s a peek at some of my favorite choices:

Beautiful Crib Bedding

I love my daughter’s crib bedding. I purchased the bedding through separate Etsy shops because I wanted to mix and match the pieces myself. The pattern on her comforter is my favorite. It’s a beautiful pattern of grays and yellows which are two of my favorite colors.

Colorful Dresser

To offset some of the whites and grays in the room, I added this fun yellow dresser. I also love that I can store some of the baby’s essentials including diapering needs. If you want to learn how I converted this old dresser into a beautiful piece of furniture simply click here.

Diaper Genie

I remember when I purchased my first Diaper Genie 10 years ago when I had my son. It was a life saver then and it still is now. I don’t want to continuously have to take out soiled diapers outside nor double (or triple) bag them. The Diaper Genie takes care of that and keeps the room fresh. The best part is that it blends right in with the rest of the room. Win-win.

Do you own a Diaper Genie? Make sure to stock up! After purchasing 3 or more Diaper Genie refills at Target, simply save your Target receipt and go to the following website http://bit.ly/1leqgU7 to claim a $25 Spa Finder Wellness gift card while supplies last. I made sure to claim mine!

Personal Touches

I love adding personal touches in our home decor and the nursery was no exception. Some of my favorites are: a print of a song that my husband would sing to our baby girl while I was pregnant, a teddy bear that her big brother gifted her and some of my favorite childhood books.

Tissue Pom Poms

When tissue pom poms became the “it” thing for party and nursery decor, I was patiently waiting for the opportunity to have a reason to make them. Even if the pom pom trend has phased out a bit, it’s still one of my favorites. It’s super easy to make and an easy way to add pops of color to any space.

When my first child was born, we had a family tree mural painted on the wall. That was the best and sweetest and most unique baby nursery item.

  3. Such pretty colors! Warm and creative environment. Lovely!
