Simple Ways to Spread Love

love-

Valentine’s Day when many of us display our love through gifts and cards. In our home, my kids look forward to my heart-shaped pancakes, silly cards and sweet treats. In return, I get showered with homemade gifts and snuggles.

It’s a tradition our family looks forward to every year. Although I enjoy showing my family love through simple gestures, I know it doesn’t with this holiday.

Today I’m sharing simple ways you can spread love throughout the year and beyond. From acts of kindness to help brighten someone’s day, to the gift of financial security that helps ensure your loved ones are taken care of if you pass away prematurely.

Here are some of my family’s favorite ways to spread love:

Make a home-cooked meal for a busy mom.

Send postcards to sick children at a local hospital.

Shovel a neighbor’s driveway.

Pay for the car behind you at the drive-thru.

Give your kids reward coupons.

Pay the toll for a stranger’s car.

Send flowers to your child’s teacher.

Send thank-you cards to soldiers overseas.

Bake cookies for local law enforcement.

Leave coins taped on a vending machine.

Pay for someone’s lunch or dinner.

Leave love notes in your children’s lunch boxes.

Donate items or money to a local charity.

Cook your spouse’s favorite meal and eat by candlelight.

Insure your love with life insurance.

Insure Your Love During the “Month of Love”

I hope you’ll consider protecting those you love with life insurance in the month of love. My daughter recently shared with me that a former classmate lost his father. Sadly, he had to pause his studies in order to work. When my dad was a teenager my grandfather passed away unexpectedly. My dad was forced to choose work over his education to help my grandmother.

Stories like these are not that uncommon. If something were to happen to me or my husband, I don’t want my kids to stop chasing their dreams because they have to worry about how to afford the things they need.

Life insurance can financially protect the people you love most. Affordability is one of the most common reasons people give for not having life insurance. According to 2016 research, people with no life insurance overestimate its cost by three times the actual amount.

I know we can’t predict the future, and no one can replace the love of a parent or spouse; however, we can take steps to help protect our family and ease their financial burden. Life insurance is no longer just an option for our family, it’s a necessity. I want to insure my love for them by protecting their future.

I suggest reading the article Do You Really Need Life Insurance? – to get more insight on this topic. If you’re not sure how much life insurance you need, check out this calculator to get a general idea. You can also contact a State Farm agent for additional help.

How do you show love to family, friends and strangers? As always, I’d love to hear from you!
