I love baking or making sweets, but sometimes after cooking a meal I simply don’t have the energy to make dessert. So instead I make the easiest dessert ever…a parfait! I know I know, is not that surprising or grand, but for some reason I find that few people make them at all. A parfait of any kind (i.e ice cream, pudding) has to be the quickest dessert anyone can put together. What I also like about parfaits is that I can make it look so yummy that people seem to forget that it’s truly a simple dessert. Yes, presentation DOES make a difference, so don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Today I’m sharing a recipe for a Cookies and Cream Pudding Parfait. Enjoy!
Cookies and Cream Pudding Parfait
2-boxes of Oreo pudding mix (and cold milk to make the pudding)
1-9 oz container of whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
20 Oreo cookies or similar
Chocolate syrup
First crush the Oreo cookies into coarse pieces. Set about a 1/3 of a cup aside for the topping. *I made this in the winter which is why the Oreos have red cream*
Then pour into your dessert dish for your first layer.
Next, just follow the directions on the pudding mix and place in the refrigerator so that it thickens. After it has reached a pudding consistency (it takes about 10 minutes) take out of the refrigerator and fold half of a 9 oz tub of whipped topping into the pudding.
Lastly, pour the pudding mix into the dish and for the next layer add the remainder of the whipped topping. I only filled my dish halfway, but you may continue to layer if you are feeding more people. Just make sure to double the recipe.
That’s all folks. This is just one way to make a parfait, you can use a variety of pudding flavors, cookies, candies etc. The point is that you keep it simple. In the end you’ll still end up with a pretty and tasty dessert.
