Our kitchen is the heart of our home. It’s where my son does his homeschooling each week, and it’s also where I do the bulk of my work since it also serves as my office space. Our kitchen is also where we create delicious meals that allow us to sit together and connect after a busy day. It’s safe to say that the bulk of our day happens in the kitchen. It’s also where we create memories and bond as a family.
Growing up in Puerto Rico, I remember how important it was for my mom to feed us delicious meals. Food is her love language and it always shows in her cooking. As a mom, I want to give my children the same experiences I had growing up. This includes home cooked meals and family conversation at the dinner table. Even on our busiest days, we make an effort to sit down and have dinner together. My husband likes to get creative in the kitchen and loves to whip up some amazing meals. Although it’s great to have a delicious meal, it’s even better to connect and create memories with family.
So how have we created memories in our American kitchen? In more ways than I can count! We’ve re-created meals from our childhood, so our children can also experience the Latin cuisine that we grew up with. It’s important to us that our children experience their Latino culture, and that includes the delicious food.
We’ve created some awesome homeschool projects that leave my kids thinking that I’m a pretty cool mom. 😉
We’ve celebrated many birthdays with cake, ice cream, gifts, and laughter.
It’s where this little one had her first bath, her first meal, and now continues to grow faster than this momma hoped for.
Our American kitchen has given our family a place to gather and create lifelong memories. It’s where our kids can talk freely and open up to us. It’s where life lessons are taught and family decisions are made. Over the years, GE appliances has played a huge role by providing us with the tools needed to create delicious meals, keep our food safe and our dishes clean, so we can focus on family. I know that having these conveniences are a blessing and I don’t ever take them for granted.
