A list of books to read during the summer months! This post contains affiliate links. You may read my disclosure policy here.
I recently shared my plan to slow down this summer, to focus on family and the things I enjoy. One of those things is reading. I love reading, and find it refreshing to break away from the daily routine and delve into a good book. I narrowed down my summer reading list to nine books. I figured a lower number would give me some wiggle room to add a few more books without making it too overwhelming. I plan to go to a few local book sales, and I’m sure I’ll be adding more to my list. So here’s my summer reading list in no particular order:
The Cozy Life-Since my summer goal is to slow down, I thought it would be appropriate to read a book that will inspire me to do so. I hear this is a quick read, filled with wonderful lessons on how to enjoy the simple things in life.
Take Me With You-This is a book that I’m currently reading. If you enjoy books that make you feel connected with the characters and their journey, this book is for you.
The Precious One-This book is written from the viewpoint of two different characters. I read the beginning of the book, and it immediately pulled me in. I’m hoping it’s an indication of what the book will offer.
The Light Between Oceans: A Novel-This book comes highly recommended. Based on the reviews, I have a feeling I will get emotionally invested in this one.
Me Before You-I’ve been wanting to read this book for a while, but now I’m even more motivated to read it since the movie is out in theaters.
Dear Mr. Knightley-I keep hearing about this book, and want to give it a try. The book description didn’t captivate me, but again, I can’t stop hearing about how wonderful it is.
Own Your Life-I like Sally Clarkson’s books, and find them refreshing and encouraging. I started this book on Audible and really enjoyed it, but never got through it because my trial period ended.
All The Light We Cannot See-I’ve been finding myself attracted to historical fiction books a lot more lately. This one is set during World War II, and follows the story of a blind French girl and a German boy whose paths colide. I can’t wait to start reading it.
Truly Madly Guilty-I’ve read several of Liane Moriarty’s books in the past, so I’m hoping her upcoming book will be just as good or better. I find that her books are easy reads, but with real-life issues intertwined in the stories.
What are you reading this summer? I’d love to hear your book recommendations!
You should try “Once Upon an expat”, real-life stories of ladies living away from their home countries. Excellent choice!
Hi Tesha! Thanks for the suggestion, I’m always adding to my list. 🙂
