It’s no secret that I absolutely LOVE pumpkin spice flavored desserts and drinks. My family is probably sick of it at this point and this season is not even over yet. Growing up, my grandma would make the most amazing Café con Leche (Coffee with Milk). I remember having a cup paired with Puerto Rican water bread or a breakfast sandwich. Today I’m sharing a twist on this already yummy coffee drink and adding my favorite fall flavor to it. This Pumpkin Spice Café con Leche recipe is my go-to when I can’t get my latte fix. It’s super easy to put together and tastes delicious. I hope you’ll give it a try and let me know how you like it!
Pumpkin Spice Café con Leche
Ingredients
1-8 ounce cup of strong coffee
2 teaspoons of white sugar
1/4 cup of evaporated milk
1/4 cup of vanilla creamer
1/4 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice
1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Directions
1. Add 2 teaspoons of sugar to your coffee mug. Brew an 8 ounce cup of coffee, add it to your mug, stir and set aside. I brewed my coffee in my Keurig K250 (strong setting).
2. Add evaporated milk, vanilla creamer, pumpkin pie spice and vanilla extract to a small saucepan.
3. Whisk ingredients together over medium to high heat until it’s on the brink of boiling. I pull it off the burner when I see the outer edge starting to bubble up.
4. Pour milk mixture over coffee and stir.
5. (Optional) I used a milk frother to create a delicious froth which I topped off with more pumpkin pie spice. You can add or subtract sugar to meet your taste preference.
Is there a fall flavor you’re slightly obsessed with? I’d love to hear from you! 🙂
