I love it when the weather starts to warm up, it reminds me of the days when I used to live in Puerto Rico. The palm trees, warm breeze and sandy beaches…*sigh* those were the days. I also remember as a child eating lots of yummy mangoes from a mango tree we had in our backyard. On a hot day, it wasn’t uncommon for my mom to make delicious smoothies with the mangoes we collected. She would also get creative and mix it up with other tropical fruits for the perfect cool treat.

So today I want to share one of my family’s favorite smoothie recipes. It’s a super easy to make breakfast smoothie that is perfect for those days you don’t have time to eat breakfast or when you simply want a healthy alternative.

For this smoothie, I’m using the Carnation Breakfast Essentials Classic French Vanilla Powder mix. Most smoothie recipes use yogurt as an ingredient, but a packet of Carnation Breakfast Essentials offers twice the calcium as a 6 oz cup of yogurt! Not only that, it’s also loaded with vitamins, minerals and a good dose of protein. It’s perfect for the days I need a post-workout drink that also tastes delicious. I purchased mine at my local Walmart, click here to save $1.00 on your next Carnation Breakfast Essentials purchase.
