November is a super busy month for our household. We have a birthday, an anniversary and several other family gatherings throughout the month. In fact, this weekend we are hosting our baby girl’s 1st birthday party and I’m in full party planning mode. Now one way that I like to stay in the loop with extended family is through my mobile phone. My phone also allows me to stay on tasks with all my busy plans so that I can save time for more important things. The best part is that my mobile plan is very affordable thanks to Walmart’s Best Plans. Y’all know how much I love to save money! So with all this busy talk, today I’m sharing 5 ways to stay connected with family during the very busy holiday season.
5 Ways To Stay Connected With Family
1. Text or call and make plans.
With busy schedules it can be easy to forget to connect with family throughout the day. A simple text to let a loved one that you’re thinking of them, can go a long way. Even better, pick up the phone and make plans for the upcoming holiday gatherings. The other day I chatted with my mother-in-law while we made plans for my baby girl’s 1st birthday. It was so nice to connect with her over the phone since we don’t get to see each other often.
2. Send photos.
This is one of my favorite things to do with my phone. I’m always taking pictures and sending it to my husband while he’s at work or to my parents. It enables them to stay connected with the kids even while they are away. It’s also a great way to capture memories to share with loved ones via email or social media.
3. Streamline your to-do list.
I use several apps that allow me to keep up with my long to-do list. Some of my favorites that help me save time or plan a great party are: Time Management (Caynax), Cozi and Pinterest. In the end, I much rather use my precious time to spend it with family.
4. Play games and have fun together.
Did you know there are game apps that allow you to play others virtually? Challenge a family member to join you in a fun game regardless of distance. Some of my favorites are Words With Friends and classics like Checkers or Tic Tac Toe.
5. Video chat.
I love to video chat. I find that it’s the next best thing to actually being in the same room with someone. If you have a loved one that lives far and can’t visit often, this is a great way to connect with them. The kids will also enjoy connecting with family and creating new memories.
In case you are wondering, the awesome smartphone seen in the photos is the ZTE Zmax which I purchased at my local Walmart. They currently have the LGL90 for $119.88 (was $179.88) and the GSIII for $199.88 (was $299.88). So if you’re looking into a new mobile phone and plan, this is definitely a great time to purchase!
How do you stay connected with loved ones during the busy holiday months? I would love to hear from you!
Love this – picking up the phone seems so simple but is often overlooked. A random text or photo text is such a sweet wa to show someone they’re on your mind!
