This month flew on by because Valentine’s Day is only a few weeks away. In our home, I like to treat the kids to some of their favorite things without busting my budget. We also have a Valentine’s Day themed dinner that includes homemade heart-shaped pizzas. Today I’m sharing a Valentine’s Day basket that can easily be put together and that your entire family can enjoy!
Valentine’s Day Family Basket
Make this Valentine’s Day even sweeter for your littlest loved ones with a Valentine’s Day Basket surprise. Simply find a basket, box or container that you’re currently using and fill it up with your family’s favorite goodies.
When I think of Valentine’s Day I think of chocolate. You simply can’t have one without the other. Our family basket is filled with Hershey’s Kisses Conversation Candies (available exclusively at Target!) and Reese’s Conversation Cups along with a variety of Hershey’s chocolates that the kids will be able to enjoy for a long time. Make sure to include some of your favorites too. 😉
Along with the chocolates, I also added fun printable coupons that they can “cash in” whenever they want.
Simply print, cut out each coupon, punch two holes on the side and tie together with a small ribbon. Easy, inexpensive and your kids will love it.
One of the coupons is blank, so I added a one night movie rental code for each of the kids. This will enable each child to pick out a movie of their choice for family movie night.
Speaking of movie night, I also included popcorn packets for a recipe the kids can help create. For the recipe, pop a packet of popcorn, melt about 1/2 cup of peanut butter and drizzle over the popcorn. Use a cheese grater to shave Hershey’s Kisses and sprinkle over the popcorn. It’s sooo good! You can also toss in peanuts, pretzels, or anything else you enjoy.
I also included empty pop bottles with fun straws that they can use for family movie night. The kids love making Shirley Temple drinks and I know they’ll enjoy drinking them from these bottles.
