31 Days To A Clutter Free Life Day 4: Living Room

Welcome to Day 4 of the 31 Days To A Clutter Free Life Challenge! If you want to find out what the challenge is all about or would like to read the previous posts, simply go here.

Today’s challenge is to de-clutter the living room. The living room is the only space that I keep 100% clutter free. Why? Because this is the first room that guests will see when they come into our home and I want it to be welcoming. I make sure that everyday stuff goes back to it’s designated space and never allow the kids to “forget” their belongings. We use the space a lot and the bulk of our homeschooling happens in our living room. But the rule is still the same for everyone; if you bring it in the room, you take it back out.

I find that keeping up with this rule helps us keep the space clutter free for the majority of the time. I’m also not a big fan of having tons of furniture pieces in the living room. This helps make the space look bigger and clean since it’s not cluttered with furnishings.

Here are a couple of pictures of our living room space that I took this morning. The lighting is not great due to the rainy and cloudy weather in our neck of the woods.

Here’s an older picture that I took for a previous post. I love this chair and it’s my favorite spot to read and sip on coffee.
