31 Days To A Clutter Free Life Day 2: Entryway

Welcome to Day 2 of the 31 Days To A Clutter Free Life Challenge! If you want to find out what the challenge is all about or would like to read the previous posts simply go here.

Today’s challenge is the entryway. I don’t have a large entryway space so I’m not able to put up the fun decor or storage solutions found in some homes. However, it also means I have a clear entryway which I’m totally happy with. So for this challenge I focused on our home’s entryway closet. I’m pretty good at keeping it organized, but lately things have been getting stuffed in there when it has nowhere else to go. It’s turned into a catch-all storage space which was never the purpose for this space.

Here’s are a few before photos:

This little lady decided to discover some goodies and go for a ride while mommy tackled the closet. Yes, that’s an inflatable floating device, totally normal in our home.

I currently use these *soft bins to store our DVDs and CDs. I bought them at Target for super cheap and they are perfect for storing smaller items.

Bonus: Finding things you forgot you owned! I had purchased this months ago, but forgot about it since it was sitting in the closet for months out of sight.

How did you do on Day 2? I don’t know about you, but I get a sense of calm when I know my space is de-cluttered. Clutter makes me anxious and I feel like I can’t function with stuff all around me.

I'm also doing the challenge. And, yes, I also feel like I can't function in the clutter. Just walking into my better organized space this evening after work I felt 10x more at ease. What a relief to have my space feel like an oasis instead of a burden!

We keep our games in our entryway closet, too! Great job.

Good thinking to focus on the closet since your entryway is already clutter free. I didn't think to do that and I probably should have!!
