31 Days To A Clutter Free Life Day 6: DVDs and Video Games

Welcome to Day 6 of the 31 Days To A Clutter Free Life Challenge! If you want to find out what the challenge is all about or would like to read the previous posts, simply go here.

Today’s challenge focuses on DVDs and video games. We love watching movies in our home and we have family movie night pretty often around here. However, I prefer renting movies instead of buying them. We still have a small collection of DVDs that we enjoy to watch and I find that having a designated space for them makes it easier to keep them organized.

I didn’t have to sort through them for this challenge since we de-cluttered our movie collection prior to moving last year. I currently use these soft bins to store them.

The other day I showed you my entryway closet pictures. Since that closet is super close to our living room, that’s where we keep our DVDs.

As far as video games goes, our son has a *video game tower in his room to hold his video games. As you can see, we keep things pretty simple around here and so far it works for us. How do you keep your DVDs and video games organized? I would love to hear from you in the comments below!

If you want to join in or would like more tips for today’s challenge, check out Living Well Spending Less for more details. Let me know if you are also doing the challenge so we can cheer each other on!

we use movie binders for DVD's as well as cd's and games. that way there are only 3-5 cases in stead of hundreds of smaller ones. The binders take up the bottom of an end table instead of an entire book case

I too organized my DVDs and CDs taking them out of their original cases and putting them in CD holders I found at Walmart. I used one holder for CDs and another for DVDs. It is much easier to take them with us when we go on vacation on long road trips. These holders can hold up to 100 CDs/DVDs...and it takes very little room in my TV console.

Oh my!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your blog. I feel as if I had found my clone! I too am Dominican (100%), God-Jesus-Holy Spirit loving, Homeschooling mom and wife who loves reading, organizing, and have a sickening obsession with decluttering and simplifying... I am enjoying every bit of your website. So glad I found you...keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing.

So glad you found my blog Jen! Yay for my fellow Dominicans. :) Yes, my obsession with de-cluttering can sometimes get out of hand, but with a house full of people I find that it's a must if I want to maintain some type of order. I hope you continue to stop by! :)
