31 Days To A Clutter Free Life Day 18: Kids Closet
Welcome to Day 18 of the 31 Days To A Clutter Free Life Challenge! If you want to find out what the challenge is all about or would like to read the previous posts, simply go here.
For this challenge we are focusing on the kids closets. I find that keeping things as simple as possible is the way to go. Why? Because the kids are able to maintain it on their own. I decided for this challenge to tackle my son’s closet since my daughter does a pretty good job at maintaining hers. As you’ll see in the picture below his closet is not huge, so things get stacked wherever there’s space.
For this challenge I did the following:
- Pulled out shoes that no longer fit to donate.
- Emptied out the large plastic toy bin and tossed out what no longer worked.
- Made room on the top shelf by moving the bedding to another space.
- Grouped clothes together (bottoms with bottoms etc.) and got rid of extra hangers.
Here’s a picture of the before.
I’m very happy with the end result and so is my son. 🙂 In the past, I would designate space for his things, but somehow his closet managed to get cluttered again after a few months. I’m hoping that this new set up will help him a bit more. It’s a lot simpler and the things he uses frequently are within reach. I also know that I need to go on a de-clutter spree every few months to keep it looking this way. How are you doing? Hang in there, we’re almost done!
