This past weekend I gathered with a group of amazing bloggers for the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. To say that this weekend exceeded my expectations of what I thought this conference would be, is truly an understatement. Not only was I inspired, I made new friends and created new memories with my family. It also gave me a new focus and helped rekindle my passion for writing.
When I started this blog last year, my goal was to share simple solutions for busy moms like myself. I wanted to encourage moms in different ways and help them find more time to spend with their loved ones. Unfortunately, I allowed the very thing that was supposed to help others pull me away from my own family. This trip was more than just a conference or a trip to Disney. This trip allowed me to reconnect with my husband, have a blast with my kids, try new things, and reevaluate the direction of The Latina Homemaker.
I’m not saying that I haven’t been enjoying my time here. In fact, it’s been an amazing ride that I don’t take for granted. However, somewhere along the way I lost focus of my passion. I wanted the community of moms that stop by here, to know that there’s more to life than picking up toys and cleaning snotty noses. To show them that you can financially contribute to your home and still be present for your kids. That being a mom can be hard and lonely, but it’s also the most amazing role we’ll ever have.
I feel like somewhere along the way, I lost a bit of focus and for that I apologize. My main purpose for this blog is YOU. I want you to be encouraged (or entertained) when you read a post here. To know that you’re not alone in your struggles and that even in the midst of life’s chaos, you can still see how blessed you are. At the end of the day it won’t matter how much traffic or money I make from this site if you’re not encouraged by my words.
Does this mean my content will be different? Yes and no. I’ll still share some money saving tips, easy recipes, homemaking solutions and an occasional family friendly product review. However, I will also be focusing more on how you can earn an income from home, simple living, and traveling on a budget which are all things I love sharing and I’m passionate about. I’ll also be sharing videos (finally recording!), so expect those very soon and make sure to follow along on YouTube.
I truly enjoy doing what I do and although I can’t always answer all emails or comments, know that I truly appreciate all of you and hope you’ll continue to follow along in my journey. 🙂
I am so glad you had a great time in Disney. It always makes for a awesome family vacation. I can’t wait to see what new things you have planned!
So glad you had such an amazing experience – looking forward to many more years with you!
Warm Regards,
Alexandra
