Although, I truly enjoy reading my blogging friends’ posts on this topic, I never saw myself doing one of these of posts. But here I am jumping on the bandwagon. I admit that I enjoy reading these type of posts. It’s fun to learn about others a little more and even learn about new resources I’ve never heard of. So without further ado, here are my goals for this upcoming month:
Blog/Business Goals:
Stay ahead of the game-
I have some cool projects kicking off in the next few months. My goal is to stay ahead of schedule and get the work done as it comes in. I find that taking on work sporadically adds to my level of stress. I much rather know what I’m doing in advance. This will also enable me to be pickier about the work I say yes to.
Update the blog’s layout-
This one is happening very soon, so don’t be surprised when you see the change. I like the clean simple look of my blog. However, I’m genuinely bored with the layout. So the general design may not change much, but the layout definitely will. I’m also testing some things that I’ll share in the future.
Secure long-term brand partnerships-
This is close to coming to fruition with one brand, but obviously no guarantees yet. The holiday season can be very busy for bloggers and online businesses. So I’m hoping that by working with a brand or two long-term, I can minimize the stress a little since I’ll know what to expect work-wise and can plan accordingly.
Streamline ALL of my social media-
You would think I have this one nailed down by now. But the reality is that I’m old school. I like to interact with my readers/followers. I hate scheduling things on social media and have a follower engage, only to get silence from me. But unfortunately, I have to start doing this going forward. It’s hard trying to manage several social media accounts and not get sucked in. My family will always comes first and although my time online is already limited, it could always be scaled back more.
Double my monthly business income-
Last year I had a lofty goal of earning a full-time income from blogging and freelance work. I honestly thought it was a crazy goal to begin with. However, God has been more than good to me and proved that nothing is impossible. I always like to set the bar high because it pushes me to improve personally and as a business owner. So going forward, my crazy goal is to double my monthly business income. Yikes!
Life Goals:
Start doing family devotionals (again)-
We did this before we started our homeschool day, but eventually it fizzled out. I’m not proud to admit this because it’s so important to me. Going forward I plan to get the kids up 30 minutes earlier, so that this is the first thing we do as a family. The kids truly enjoyed doing this and it was a great way to kick start our homeschool day.
Go out for at least one date night each month-
My husband and I rarely get out of the house without the kids. We’re OK with that, but realized recently that it’s something we have to do for ourselves and our marriage. We try to do date night at home, but our toddler has been on a weird sleep schedule recently that has put those efforts on hold for now. So going forward we’re making an effort to go out at least once a month and not once a year!
Spend time individually with each child-
My husband and I have always made an effort to spend our free time with our kids. However, we don’t often spend time with them individually. I truly believe that kids need time alone with each parent. I’ve done this before with my oldest, but not with all of our kids. Even if we just do a simple movie night in or go out for a quick treat. My hope is that great conversations (and fun!) take place.
Get serious about Trim Healthy Mama-
I love Trim Healthy Mama (affiliate link). When I say that it works, I’m living proof that it works. I lost 9 lbs following the recipes loosely. After trying everything under the sun including crazy Shaun T workouts, this is what started to knock the weight off. However, I fell off the bandwagon more than once recently. So my plan is to get disciplined and meal plan based on the book.
Read books I already own-
I’m a book hoarder. I love reading, but I also find myself buying new books before I’ve finished the owns I already own. During my last purge I got rid of a ton of books, but I still have several on my Kindle app that I haven’t read. I’m looking forward to get some reading done these upcoming colder months. I’m finally wrapping up Sarah Mae’s book Longing for Paris (affiliate link), which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Finish painting the house-
With the holidays creeping up soon, I want to finish some painting projects that are halfway done. I hate feeling like our home is partially finished and would love to see this checked off my to-do list before the holiday season arrives.
What are you up to in life or business/career? Any new goals you’d like to share? As always, I love hearing from you! 🙂
