Father’s Day is only days away. Every Father’s Day I try to spoil my dad and my husband a little. It’s not about what I spend, but how I show them how much they are appreciated. Unfortunately, I have a business trip planned out of town that happens to fall on Father’s Day weekend. However, I simply decided to get an early start on dad’s special day.

So what can I say about this guy? He’s truly one of the most amazing dads that I know. We met at a very young age, I was just shy of my 20th birthday and he was going on 19. I was a single mom with a one year old daughter and he was a dad to a one year old as well. I always say that God orchestrated our marriage because we fell in love immediately and got married a year later. He took over the dad role from day one and raised my oldest daughter as his own. We added two more kids to the bunch and I couldn’t be more proud of this man. He has no issue with changing diapers, making dinner or playing with our baby girl, even when it includes dolls. He is one of a kind, and watching him with our kids truly makes my heart melt.

5 Ways To Spoil Dad This Father's Day + a Giveaway!

So today I’m sharing five of my favorite ways to spoil dad and make him feel special on his day.

5 Ways To Spoil Dad This Father’s Day

1. Tell him through words.

I make an effort to tell my husband what an amazing father he is. However, it’s great to have the kids do the same. My husband loves receiving homemade cards from the kids. It’s truly special reading your children’s words and looking back on these special mementos years later. If you like, you can print the printable seen below for free by clicking here.

2. Allow him to unwind.

Dads often have as much going on as moms do. So it’s only fair to give dad a break and give him a day off. For my husband that means throwing a football with the boys or playing basketball. For your dad, it might be fishing or reading a book. Whatever he wants to do, just make sure he gets some uninterrupted time to do it.

3. Treat him to his favorite foods.

My husband is a foodie at heart. So on Father’s Day, he gets treated to breakfast in bed as well as a special dinner. He also enjoys being treated to some homemade goodies. If possible include the kids by allowing them to help in the kitchen or serve the food to dad.

4. Go out as a family.

Dads enjoy a time out, but most will agree that they much rather spend the day with their family. Allow dad to pick where he wants to go and make it a family affair. My husband enjoys amusement parks, so we spent a day there this past weekend enjoying our time together.

5. Pamper him with his favorites.

Men also like to be spoiled, and Father’s Day is no exception. My husband enjoys wearing cologne and has a select few that he’ll wear. So for Father’s Day I gave my husband a Nautica Life gift set. The cologne is a blend of freshness with a combination of aromatics that makes it truly masculine. The gift set includes a 3.4 oz Eau de Toilette, 2.5 oz Aftershave Balm, 2.5 oz Shower Gel, and 1 oz Eau de Toilette for only $65.00.
