Aside from Christmas, Easter is one of my favorite holidays. I get to enjoy the new traditions I’ve started with my family while blending in some old traditions from my childhood. I also like to update some of our home decor to celebrate the holiday and kick off a new season.
Getting your home and family ready for Easter doesn’t have to be expensive. Just a few simple touches can go a long way. Today I’m sharing 5 simple steps you can take now to welcome the spring season and upcoming Easter holiday. With a little planning and time, Easter can become a holiday your whole family will look forward to!
5 Ways to Prepare Your Home for Easter (and Beyond!)
1. De-clutter and spring clean your home
Throughout the year, I like to go through our entire home and get rid of the things we don’t need. I purge clothes, toys, and basically anything that isn’t being used. This simple step also saves me from wasting endless hours cleaning. I also like to deep clean our home to welcome the new season. This includes; shampooing the carpets, cleaning the windows, wiping down walls, etc. If you spread out the tasks over a week or two, plus recruit your family to help, it’ll be much easier to tackle.
2. Spruce up your decor with simple touches
I enjoy keeping my home decor to a minimum, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t like to update our space. I find that simple pieces can make a huge impact in a room. Greenery, new artwork, and even accent furniture can quickly transform a space. I decided for spring, that I wanted to keep colors neutral, so I purchased some potted greenery and a beautiful word art print at JCPenney. Both were well within my budget and look great in my living room space.
3. Freshen up spaces by replacing the old
The Easter holiday is a great time to replace the old and freshen up your home. I personally like to replace hand towels and shower curtains with new ones. I also like to swap out throw pillows and replace the doormat. These simple changes can make a big impact in your space and it’s a great way to welcome the warmer months ahead. JCPenney has a variety of on-trend pieces at great price points including these JCPenney Home Phoenix Yarn Dyed hand towels for $4.99!
4. Decorate with dual-purpose items
When decorating a space, think about items that can serve two purposes. One of my favorite items to decorate with is candles. Instead of small ones that burn out quickly, I invest in larger-sized soy candles so I don’t have to swap them out right away. Not only do they smell amazing, they also add a pop of color to the space. Coffee tables, storage benches, and accent chairs can all be used to update a space while also serving a function.
5. Shop for essentials without busting your budget
You don’t have to bust your budget to enjoy the Easter holiday. In fact, one of my favorite stores to shop at is JCPenney because it offers a variety of high-quality, stylish pieces for the home at a great value. I’m all about saving money and time, so a one-stop shopping destination that offers a variety of stylish and affordable merchandise is a must. I was able to purchase a variety of pieces for my home and even found this beautiful Easter dress for my little one without having to make an additonal stop.
Get all you want by shopping at JCPenney for a broad assortment of products from exclusive and national brands, with styles that are priced to buy and guaranteed to love. All available in-store or online!
