I received compensation and a complimentary meal from Carrabba’s Italian Grill. However, all opinions and drool-worthy photos are my own.
I recently shared that my husband and I went to Carrabba’s Italian Grill for a rare night out. Since we don’t always get a chance to have time to ourselves, this was a special treat. Not only did we enjoy great conversation without kids interrupting, we also enjoyed some amazing Italian cuisine.
Carrabba’s recently launched their New School of Italian which includes over 20 new menu items. The menu items go beyond the traditional fare and are simply delicious. I was surprised that we didn’t order any pasta!
To celebrate the New School of Italian launch, Carrabba’s will be giving away 1 million dishes to guests that register online at www.Carrabbasgiveaway.com beginning at 8 p.m. EST tonight until January 14th! Carrabba’s is also offering 20% off every guest’s bill through March 6, so you can also try out their new menu items.
We started off our night with the Wood-Fired Italian Wings. These wings are seasoned with spicy Italian chili pepper and served with gorgonzola dipping sauce. They were slightly crispy with a little bit of a spicy kick. Perfect in my opinion.
Next, we ordered the Italian Lettuce Wraps which were my personal favorite. These wraps are filled with wood-grilled chicken that’s tossed with vegetables, and a ricotta salata in Mediterranean lemon vinaigrette. They are light, yet full of flavor.
My husband really enjoyed the Mozarella Rustica served with marinara sauce. These crispy bites are made up of mozarella, ricotta with Italian herbs, and panko breadcrumbs.
For an entree, I ordered Chianti Chicken. I was served wood-grilled chicken with chianti demi sauce, along with an arugula salad tossed with grapes, apples, toasted hazelnuts and lemon vinaigrette. This meal is now on my favorites list.
My husband ordered Tuscan-Grilled Sirloin and Prosciutto-Wrapped Shrimp. According to him, it was as tasty as it looks.
We also shared a bowl of Cioppino. It’s a Mediterranean-style seafood stew that has white fish, shrimp, bay scallops, clams and mussels served with baked ciabatta. Truly a seafood lover’s dream.
We finished off the night with Brulée Ricotta Cheesecake and Chocolate Hazelnut Gelato. My husband loved the cheesecake and said it was some of the best cheesecake he’s ever had.
And despite the fact I was already nice and full, I made a little wiggle room for dessert.
I had a great time connecting with my husband while enjoying good food in a relaxing atmosphere. Did I mention that the staff was awesome? Greg and Jenn were friendly and helped answer our bajillion menu questions. 🙂
