This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Minute Maid as part of their #doingood campaign. All ideas and opinions are my own.
The transition from summer break to a new school year can be tough for kids. As a parent, nothing compares to the busyness a new school year brings. Between the endless amounts of homework and extra-curricular activities, it’s easy to get overwhelmed and worry you are not doing a good enough job.
For many years, I tried to juggle it all in hopes that I would pull it off before burning out. I wanted to be at every sports game, cook every meal, and keep a pristine home. I would set impossible standards for myself and then feel guilty when I wasn’t able to meet them.
I know I’m not the only mom that struggles with these insecurities, which is why I wanted to create a back-to-school care package for a mom friend in my life. I created a care package that includes fun and practical items to help her survive the back-to-school season, including Minute Maid Apple Juice. These juice boxes are my go-to once school starts. Not only are they easy to pack but we can also take them anywhere. I always feel good giving my family Minute Maid juice. So much so, I also included a delicious treat that was a hit in our home using Minute Maid. See recipe below!
I plan to give this goodness to my friend and remind her that she’s doing a great job this year. Watch Minute Maid’s latest video to learn how a reverse care package is a great way to remind moms and dads that they’re #doingood!
To create the care package I filled a decorative storage bin with the following:
- A book about motherhood (one of my favorites!)
- Minute Maid Apple Juice Boxes
- Homemade apple glazed cinnamon dough bites (see recipe below)
- Water bottle
- Planner
- Notepad
- Stationary
- Pen
- Candle
- Tissues
- Lip balm
- Hand sanitizer
- Bath bombs
I also created a fun little printable with one of my favorites quotes, “In the eyes of your child you’re a Super Mom”. If you want to print it at home, simply click here. I really had fun putting this care package together, and it’s just another fun way to recognize a parent who is #doingood.

1/2 cup of granulated sugar
2 tablespoons of cinnamon
Apple Glaze –
3/4 cups of confectioners sugar

1. Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon together. Place in a freezer bag and set aside.
2. Cut dough into 1/2-inch pieces, roll each piece into a ball.
3. Fry dough balls in vegetable oil over low to medium heat until golden brown.
4. Place dough bites into the bag holding the cinnamon sugar mixture. Shake to coat well.
5. Stir confectioners sugar and Minute Maid Apple Juice together.
6. Drizzle dough bites with the apple flavored glaze. Enjoy!
These sweet and crispy dough bites are flavorful and super easy to make. They will be one of my go-to recipes this upcoming fall.
The apple glaze adds another layer of flavor. Even my little one couldn’t resist going back for more!
