The next few months will be quite busy for our family. We welcomed our baby boy last month and we are also prepping for an upcoming move. Although moving can often be stressful, I welcome the opportunity to get creative and decorate a new space. Not only will this move be a fresh start as far as location, I also get the opportunity to have fun with brand new decor and pieces.
Since I tend to purchase classic pieces that don’t need to be updated frequently, moving gives me the perfect excuse to change up our decor. I enjoy a modern and clean style that can be tweaked with a few simple accent pieces. This enables me to update our home decor easily for different seasons and holidays without having to do an entire overhaul.
I know that during these upcoming months our schedules will be packed to the brim, but I’m also excited to share our family’s journey, moving tips, along with how to style a variety of spaces. I’m a firm believer that you can do more with less, and that you don’t have to sacrifice style nor comfort to embrace a minimalist design. I’m no design expert, but over the years I’ve learned how to decorate our humble space to best serve our family.
Why a Minimalist Style?
I loathe clutter so I’m very picky about the furniture and decor that makes it into our home. It’s also one of the reasons I embraced a minimalist style, and why I only purchase pieces that either serve a function or that I absolutely love. Not only does a minimalist style look clean and modern, it also comes with a few perks. Here are some of my favorites:
- You’ll spend less time cleaning.
- Rooms will appear more spacious.
- You can change the look very easily.
- You won’t need many decorative pieces.
- You’ll focus more on quality vs. quantity.
I’m also excited to share that I’ve partnered with CORT to bring you the latest furniture trends. I’m all about saving money so I love that CORT Clearance Furniture offers high-quality previously rented furniture at a fraction of the price.
This will come in handy since we’re currently focused on saving money for our future home.
For the next several months, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite tips and tricks on how I decorate our space along with my plans for our future home. If you want to learn how to create a space that is both functional and stylish, you’ll definitely want to follow along!
