I was provided with a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander to test drive and help facilitate this review. All opinions expressed are 100% my own. #DriveMitsubishi
My two oldest kids play multiple sports, so throughout the week I’m dropping off one kid at practice while picking up the other. I’m the next best thing to a cab driver, except I don’t get paid to drive. As a mom, the top features I seek out in a vehicle are safety, comfort and gas efficiency. A couple of weeks ago I was given the opportunity to test out the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander and today I’m sharing some of my favorite features of this new compact crossover.
Let’s get started with the exterior. As you’ll see below, the new Mitsubishi Outlander is nice on the eyes. It’s a crossover that doesn’t scream mom and kids on board. The trim options are both stylish and sleek. The Outlander I had the opportunity to test drive, was the Rally Red color. It reminded me of a color found on a sports car, and this momma was totally digging it. 😉
What surprised me the most about the Mitsubishi Outlander was the interior design. Black interior and leather seating make it the perfect vehicle for families. I currently own a vehicle with light carpeting that’s not so light anymore, so I love this interior option in the new Outlander.
The middle seats can fold flat very easily if you need more room to carry large items.
This was the biggest surprise: third row seating! I truly didn’t expect a third row, but sure enough we had enough space for the entire family. Now you need to be aware that the third row would be best suited for a child since leg room is limited. But for a family with a wide range of ages like our family, the Mitsubishi would be perfect since the little ones can sit in the back.
One my favorite features in the Mitsubishi Outlander was the touchscreen display with the rearview camera. I’ve never had a rearview camera before, so it was nice to have a second set of eyes when backing up. My teenage daughter also enjoyed using the touchscreen audio system to find her favorite HD stations.
Some other features that our family enjoyed were the keyless entry, one touch start/stop engine switch and cup holders between the 2nd row seats. It’s little details like these that makes the Outlander stand out.
Aside from my everyday mommy duties, I was also able to take the Mitsubishi for a long ride to a media even in NYC along with my friend Esther of Coupon Cutting Mom. We both enjoyed how smooth the ride was even in the middle of crazy highway traffic jams. We also didn’t have to stop to get gas once during our 5+ hour long round trip. Most importantly, I had a peace of mind knowing that the Outlander was equipped with 7 airbags including one underneath the driver’s side dashboard for extra protection.
How can the Mitsubishi Outlander make your life easier? For me it was definitely the keyless entry. No need to search for keys while juggling a toddler and a diaper bag!
The 7 passenger 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander starts at $23,195. Take it for a test drive at your local Mitsubishi dealer!
