31 Days To A Clutter Free Life Day 8: Junk Drawer

Welcome to Day 8 of the 31 Days To A Clutter Free Life Challenge! If you want to find out what the challenge is all about or would like to read the previous posts, simply go here.

Today we are focusing on junk drawers. I have more than one, but my son thought it would be a great idea to get his junk drawer in order first. After brining me his drawer I can totally see why. His drawer is pretty out of control as you’ll see below. I have a couple myself, but I know my issue is paperwork and not so much the “junk”.

Don’t ask me what happened here or why in the world there are DVDs AND video games in the drawer. Clearly I failed on the previous challenge. So far he has found $1.00 which has his motivated to help me.

My plan of attack is the following:

  • Empty drawer fully.
  • Make two piles; trash and keep.
  • Go through keep items and find a designated space.
  • Whatever stays in the drawer, will be organized accordingly.

I’ll be updating this post later today with an after photo. I would love it if you shared your progress in the comments below! Anyways, I’m off to tackle the crazy drawer!

**Update!**
Here is the after of my son’s junk drawer. I’m proud to say that he did the bulk of the work himself and figured out what he wanted to keep. He threw out a bag full of junk and even found several video games that he wants to sell or consign. Yes, I’m one proud momma.:)
