30 Day Purge Challenge {Days 13 -15}

30 Day Purge Challenge {Days 13-15}. For 30 days I will purge five items each day in order to de-clutter and get rid of excess from our home. This is my progress for Days 13-15.
In case you missed the initial post; I’m currently doing a 30 day purge challenge where I choose five items each day that I have to donate, sell or trash.

You might be wondering why I condensed three days into one post, well the simple explanation is that I didn’t want to bore you. I have been purging my toddler’s clothes and there’s plenty to cover several days. So I just decided to cover those in one or two posts and move things along. Now that doesn’t mean I’m taking shortcuts, it just simply means that I’m tackling this area a bit quicker so that I can focus on other areas of the home.

This week we’re wrapping up our homeschool year and it has been extremely busy around here. There are times that I just want to give up and focus on the other tasks that are calling for my attention. It’s definitely a busy season, but I know that I have to make this a priority. Even dedicating 15 minutes each day can yield amazing results.

So how can you carve out time when there’s no time left in the schedule?
Simple; make time. I find that 15-20 minutes each day is all I need to find 5 items to purge. I work from home, homeschool and have a very active toddler. I know what it’s like to feel overworked and overwhelmed. However, you owe this to yourself and your family.

If you truly can’t figure out how to make time for this, let me show you some easy tricks that will help you purge 5 items when you have little time:

Wake up earlier-
I know, pretty obvious. But if you truly don’t think you have the time, this is an easy way to make time. It might even become a regular habit and you’ll wind up enjoying the extra time you have in the morning.

Get off social media-
A few minutes spent here and there on social media can add up quickly. Instead of browsing Facebook, go on a hunt for things to purge. It doesn’t matter if I pin a ton of neat projects, if I’m too busy on Pinterest to give them a try. Trust me, I’ve done this myself. 🙂

When you go into a room, leave with something-
When you step into a room and see an item that you know you don’t want to keep, grab it. There goes one item off your list. Searching through your drawers and see several things that need tossed out, grab those too. Before you know it, you’ll have your 5 items for the day.

Now on to my five items for each day:

All of these baby clothes were donated to a family friend and I’m extremely happy another baby girl gets to use these.

How are your purging efforts coming along? I know it’s the end of the school year for many, but don’t let that stop you from pushing forward. You’re halfway there!
