How To De-Clutter and Simplify Your Bathroom-Simple tips to help you de-clutter and simplify your bathroom space.

It’s definitely no secret that I enjoy a clutter-free home. With National Simplify Your Life Week taking place August 2nd-8th, I wanted to share my favorite tips for simplifying the bathroom. Purging and simplifying is something I truly enjoy doing. The benefits of having less, is well worth the effort. When it comes to our bathrooms, I find that keeping it clutter-free and organized helps speed up the cleaning process. You don’t have to have a complicated system, just follow these simple steps to help you get started:

Trim down toiletries

The first thing you’ll want to do is go through your toiletries and get rid of the excess. Toss out anything that’s expired or opened, but not being used. I also like to get rid of duplicates. However, if it’s something I use regularly I’ll make an exception and keep more than one. But things like sunscreen (my mom sends me tons of these) or make-up, gets paired down to one or two.

Contain what you keep

Once you get your toiletries de-cluttered and purge what you don’t need, find bins to keep it organized. You don’t need to have a complicated system for this. I have a bin for frequently used toiletries, another one for less used toiletries, and a few other bins for hair products and brushes. If you want to get a more detailed look at my bathroom closet check out this post.

Put things away

Nothing makes a bathroom look more cluttered than things that are left out. I always keep brushes and toiletries tucked away in the bathroom closet and cabinet. Not only does it keep my bathroom looking clean, but it also enables me to wipe things down quickly since I don’t have to put anything away.

Keep it simple

I can’t stress this enough when it comes to keeping a space clutter-free and organized. Only keep the things that you need and use in your bathroom space. If it doesn’t belong in the bathroom, make sure you find a new home for it. I also keep my bathroom decor fairly simple. The less stuff I have sitting out, the less stuff I have to fuss with.

While we’re on this topic, I recently discovered Scott Tube-Free and how it’s impacting the environment with one simple step. It has eliminated the toilet paper tube which in turn helps diminish 17 billion toilet paper rolls that are used every year. That’s truly amazing! It’s a quick, easy and environmentally conscious switch that any household can make.
