30 Day Purge Challenge {Days 5-8}

The 30 Day Purge Challenge. Will you join me? For 30 days I will purge five items each day in order to de-clutter and get rid of excess from our home.
In case you missed the initial post; I’m currently doing a 30 day purge challenge where I choose five items each day that I have to donate, sell or trash.

I took a much needed break to enjoy the long weekend with my husband and kids. Yesterday, we spent the day in Gettysburg, PA exploring the various historical sites the town has to offer. I can’t wait to share the photos and experiences we had there. It was definitely an unexpected treat.

So how’s the purge challenge going? I truly feel like I’m gaining momentum in my purging efforts. When I first started the challenge I thought I would have a hard time finding things to get rid of. Mainly because I’m constantly donating and tossing things we don’t need or use. However, I’ve had no issues finding five items each day. I’ve also been pleasantly surprised to see that a good bit of it can be donated.

So here are my items from this past weekend up through today:

I purged a total of 22 items which includes 6 curtain panels, 4 pairs of shoes, 4 books, 3 toddler coats/jackets, 1 Pelican case, 1 t-shirt, 1 stuffed animal, 1 purse and 1 board game. It should have been twenty items in total, but I snuck two extra items in the pile. 😉 The purse will be sold since it’s a Michael Kors purse that was purchased for the sole purpose of re-selling it. I also plan to sell the Pelican case and hopefully make a small profit from that. The board game will be tossed since the kids lost several pieces, and the rest of the items I plan to donate.

How are you doing so far? I get excited each time something else goes out the door. Even my son is getting excited about the challenge and has been helping me purge.
